• I gave my parents a digital picture frame that connects to the wireless network in their house, allowing me to email them photos straight to the frame (the same frame Mrs. Penguin gave her parents). My dad watches it every single morning, and calls me at least once a week to ask if I have more pictures I can send him. They ended up giving one to their own parents for Christmas as well. It was a pricey gift, but my parents love it so much (and it will be wonderful when the grandkids come along).

• Convert their old home movies from VHS to DVD. Try making a sweet memory montage of childhood to present to them.

• Comission someone to do a sketch of their house or your childhood home.

• Make a photobook of childhood pictures leading up to your wedding day.
