The following is a list of policies to keep in mind while editing the Weddingbee Wiki.
Please write all articles using a neutral point of view. One exception is the Tips sections in articles, which may contain suggestions written from a personal point of view.
Weddingbee is committed to fighting heterosexism: the presumption that all couples are heterosexual. This ignores the possibility of same-sex and trans-gender weddings.
Where possible, references to "the bride and groom" should be replaced by references to "the engaged couple" or "the newly married couple".
References to gender are of course permissible, where appropriate. For example, the bridal party article contains many references to brides, bridesmaids, and Maid of Honors.
For examples of non-heterosexist language, please see:
Genderqueer and intergender gender identity has yet to be addressed on the wiki.
The Weddingbee wiki assumes that each marriage is a union between two people. As a practical matter, spouses are often added to a polygamist marriage one at a time.
