Wedding rehearsal

A wedding rehearsal is a walk through of the wedding ceremony with the entire wedding party.

The purpose of the wedding rehearsal is to ensure that all ceremony participants know what is expected of them during the actual wedding ceremony and what they are supposed to do. Rehearsals typically takes place sometime during the week before the wedding at the ceremony location.

A wedding rehearsal is often followed by a rehearsal dinner, which is traditionally hosted by the groom's family.

[edit] Tips

  • To get all the people needed at the wedding rehearsal, it would be a good idea to send out little reminders listing all the details.
  • If you have a wedding planner and the ceremony site has a day-of-the-wedding planner, have them meet so there is no conflict and better communication.
  • Be straightforward with your wedding party that they need to be at the location on time because they should become familiar with getting to the location on time and there may also be another rehearsal afterwards.
  • For the children in the wedding rehearsal, provide them with little goody bags filled with crayons, mini coloring books, small snacks, a small amount of candy, etc. to prevent any tantrums.
