The wedding band (also known as a "wedding ring") is a metal band that is worn on the left hand ring finger which symbolizes marriage as an eternal love for each other. The circular band is an obvious sign of unity that will never be broken. The wearing of the ring on the left hand dates back to classical times, because the ring finger is the only one that has a vein running up and straight to the heart or the vena amoris.
