A shot list is a list of "must take" photos that an engaged couple often provides their wedding photographer.
[edit] Definition
There are several different definitions for the phrase "shot lists":
- A short list of standard portrait groupings
- A short list of important photos (e.g. one photo with favorite grandmother, one with stepmom, etc.).
- A list of artistic shots from other weddings to recreate
Some photographers feel that shot lists inhibit their creativity, especially when they are a list of artistic shots from other weddings to recreate.
- When the photographer takes various pictures of bride after the wedding ceremony, make a point to set down your bouquet at some point. You worked so hard to pick the perfect gown, you'll want some shots of you that shows off your dress, and isn't blocked or hidden behind a bouquet.
- Try to hold your bouquet low (waist-height or lower), and with your elbow pointed out at a perpendicular angle. Arms look bigger when they are smashed up against your body!
