Seville

Seville is a Spanish city in southern Spain. It is the capital of Andalusia and it is of the province of Sevilla. It is the fourth largest metropolitan area of Spain. Attractions

Couples can sightsee many attractions in Seville. The Alcazar is an old Spanish castle built in the 1360s for King Pedro the Cruel. Barrio Santa Cruz is a delightful barrio with cafes, tapas bars and the Alcazar is located here. Travelers can come see the Cathedral of Seville, which is the largest church in the world.

If you or your partner are into natural parks, Seville houses some of the most beautiful ones in Europe. The Parque de Maria and the Plaza de Espana are the two most popular ones. The Paseo de Colon near the Guadalquivir River is for leisurely walks.

If you or your partner are art buffs, Seville has a number of art galleries such as the Museo de Bellas Artes, which has a large collection of art by Spain's most famous painters.

Climate

Seville's summers (June to September) are very hot. There is virtually no rain and July and August are the hottest months.

The winters are mild with clear days or overcast, warm days. The first winter rains begin in late September or early October.

Tips

  • Most of the tourist sights in Seville are within walking distance of each other. Bicycles are an easy way to get around, but the traffic can be difficult. Scooters are also available and so are taxis.
  • You'll need a detailed street map, even if you're there for a day or two. The best ones are published by Euro City and are available at local newsstands or bookstores.
