A public park is a park on public land. Public parks are increasingly used as a wedding venue by couples who are looking to host a large wedding, are budget-conscious, or appreciate the often spectacular views available on public land.

• Public parks can fill up ahead of time, so make sure to confirm your reservation early.
• If the wedding ceremony is held at a location inside of the park, guests may have to hike a considerable distance in formal wear to get to your wedding.
• Bathrooms can be an issue with public parks. If the facilities at the park can't accommodate large crowds, you may have to rent portable toilets.
• Because parks are on public land, other people may be using the nearby land for their own purposes. If a picnic or Frisbee game stars up nearby, you may have no recourse. On the other hands, people are often very respectful of weddings, so this may not be an issue.
