Dates

The following dates may be especially good or bad days for a wedding:

  • Holy Week (the last week before Easter) generally occurs in late March to early April. Christians often avoid having weddings during Holy Week.
  • The second Sunday in March is Daylight Savings Time; countries observing DST lose an hour. Weddings on this date can be confusing for guests.
  • March 15th (the "Ides of March") is the anniversary of the assassination of Julius Caesar, and is considered by some to be unlucky.
  • March Madness – the NCAA championship tournament – occurs every year over three weeks in March. If a significant portion of the wedding party or guest list is following March Madness, this can cause significant issues.
