A makeup studio is a company that hires a group of makeup artists to do makeup, all under a single brand name. A makeup studio is typically a company; any payments goes to the company, who then either pays a commission to the makeup artists or pays their salary.

Couples sometimes hire a makeup studio to do makeup at their wedding. They can also schedule a makeup trial to be held before their wedding day.

In contrast to a makeup studio, it's possible to hire an individual makeup artist. When a couple hires a makeup artist, they are guaranteed to work with that particular makeup artist.
