Madrid (pronounced [ma'ð̞ɾið̞] or colloquially [ma'ð̞ɾiˑ] in Spanish, and [məˈdɹɪd] in English) is the largest city in Spain. The capital of Spain since 1562, is located on the geographic center of the Iberian Peninsula.
