Hidden costs

Hidden costs are costs associated to weddings that either the couple or guests had not planned on.

Common hidden costs

For the couple

  • Honeymoon
  • Wedding rings
  • Day-after brunch
  • Undergarments
  • Hair and makeup trial, waxing, etc.

  • Cake cutting fee (some venues charge this if you bring in an outside cake)
  • Rental Mark-ups (several caterers we interviewed will coordinate your tent, table, china, rentals etc. but don't mention they mark these up 15%!!!)

For bridesmaids

  • Bridesmaids are often asked to pitch in for parties they might not even be able to attend.
  • Decorating the bridal suite: champagne, flowers, candles, etc.

For guests

  • A new dress or suit
  • Parking
  • Day-after brunch
