[edit] Tips

  • There are 3x4 treat bags at Walmart - 50 for $1.79. These can be used if you're going to put something at each seat directing people to the buffet.
  • You can also find little treat sacks at most craft stores for a similar amount.
  • If you're considering a candy buffet, don't forget to include some non-sugar candy options for diabetic guests.
  • If you know of any specific allergies of your guests, make sure those ingredients are noted on the buffet, or completely avoided. (ie nut allergies)
  • Utilize post-holiday candy discounts to save big on the candy purchase.
  • Candy scoops can be purchased at a coffee store.
  • Glass candy jars work well, especially jars with a wide top.
  • it looks best when the candy jars have a variety of heights and shapes.
  • Cookies or cupcakes can be served on a cake stand.
  • Be sure to factor in shipping costs when ordering candy online, as it can often be equal to, or even exceed, the cost of the candy itself.
  • Check your local wedding boards to find great deals on glass jars from brides who have already had their weddings.
