Popular Toppers

Some popular ways to top a cake:

• Fresh flowers
• Vintage figurines (of the couple).
• Customized bride and/or grooms in your likeness
• Character brides and/or grooms (e.g. Mickey & Minnie, favorite animals)
• Monogram
• Bird couples

Toppers can be made out of fresh flowers, fondant, marzipan, gum paste, or even buttercream. They can also be sculpted out of any material: plastic, metal, and other materials are often used.

Tips

• Toppers aren't required by any means! If you don't feel like spending money on a topper, it's always an option not to get one.
• Same-sex, transgender, and interracial couples often struggle to find caketopper figurines that look like them. More abstract caketoppers like monograms, bird couples, or fresh flowers can help address the issue.
