Boards

The Weddingbee boards are an online discussion forum, broken down into a variety of topics. Boards let users interact, by allowing members to create a post, which other members can comment on and/or discuss.

Post

A post is a user submitted message. It can be a comment, question, or opinion. Other users may comment on the original post, which creates a thread.

Thread

A thread is an online discussion on the boards. Once a user writes a post, a thread is started. The thread contains the original post and all comments that follow.

Comment Policy

The following Comment guidelines apply when posting generally:
  • We don’t allow posts that are intended to personally attack, insult or harass our Bees or other users of the Weddingbee site.
  • While you can certainly disagree with a blogger or commenter’s ideas, please refrain from leaving comments that include snarkiness, defamatory remarks, racist remarks, threats, or profanity.
  • We don’t allow posts by vendors that are directly promoting their services (see Vendor Policy below)
  • Although registration is not required to post comments, registered users are given more leeway over users posting with false emails or aliases.
  • Weddingbee will remove comments that are in violation of the Comment guidelines.

Vendor Policy

  • Keep in mind that if you name your vendor, they will often find and read your post!
  • If you want to vent very specific, angry and emotional thoughts, do not name your vendor or say anything that will likely reveal their identity. This way, you can express your thoughts without subjecting yourself to libel.
  • If you do name a vendor, please write posts in a factual manner and avoid inflammatory statements. If you share what the vendor has done in an even handed way, then our readers can make their own informed opinion.
  • Give the vendor a chance to respond and/or take action - either on the post, or through email or telephone.
  • Vendors are encouraged to comment on Weddingbee, but any spam-like comments and blatant self-promotion will be deleted.
  • When posting about vendors, be responsible and fair. It’s never appropriate to talk about “destroying” a vendor.

For full guidelines, please refer to Community Guildeines.

Self Promotion

  • Please don't start threads on the board just to promote your own site!
  • Please don't post the same (or similar) post to multiple forums. All the posts appear on the boards frontpage, so everyone will see all the re-posts.
  • Please don't link to your URL at the bottom of your post (in a sig-line). You can put it in your profile though, which will link your username to your site.
  • Please don't post Classifieds on the boards.

Hive Hostesses

A Hive Hostess is a member designated to help run a specific board. Hive hostesses make both new and existing Weddingbee Community Members feel welcomed, elevate topics of interest, and help to ensure that the Weddingbee community remains a welcoming, helpful home for brides-to-bee. They can also be considered a moderator.

Hostesses can easily be recognized by the “Hostess” title under their avatar. The little question marks seen under the avatars in the Blog responses send you to this page where you can apply to be a Hive Hostess!

Bee Levels

Bee levels keep track of the number of times a member makes a post or comment. This includes posts and comments on the Boards and comments on the blogs. As a member, each time you make a post or comment, your Bee Level increases by 1. To become a member, please register here.
